Full Time: 40 hours per week

Salary Range: $53,500-$58,500

About The Role

Reporting to the Finance Director, the Finance Program Specialist will be responsible for maintaining the books and records of a large number of programs including all processing, budgeting, accounting, reconciliations, and reporting. The successful candidate will also be responsible for communicating cash flow changes and necessary updates to the General Ledger.  The Finance Program Specialist will also provide assistance to the Finance Director with preparation of the year-end audit and drafting of the financial statements.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate is a highly-motivated individual who meets the following essential requirements:

  • Post-Secondary Degree and/or Certificate in Accounting or Business Administration
  • 2+ years of relevant accounting experience
  • Knowledge of accounting standards for non-profit organizations is an asset
  • Experience in a job cost environment is an asset
  • Understanding of accounting processes and procedures
  • Demonstrate proficiency in engaging with external clients and vendors
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP software an asset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with staff.
  • Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information
