About the Role
This position is to support the Youth Hub and its participants in advocacy and attendance of appointments. The incumbent will be the person who will collect information for the participants and Youth Hub, act as liaison between agencies, and coordinated care plan meetings with relevant services. As well as provide peer support, supervision of the space, programming support, scheduling of appointments for the participants, and provide presentations of the Youth Hub and Ka Ni Kanichihk services. The position will mostly include work in the community by meeting participants and their supports. The incumbent will work alongside other Youth Hub Staff, or Ka Ni Kanichihk staff. Along act in a supervisory role if Coordinator is unavailable.

The goals of this position are to foster relationships with the community and support the participants to meet their own personal goals. This position will work alongside the Coordinator when a participant with complex needs and many supports are identified.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate is a highly-motivated individual who meets the following essential requirements:
 Relevant post-secondary education, or combination of education and relevant experience
 Two (2) years’ experience working with Indigenous youth
 Experience working with high risk youth who have varied and complex needs, including crisis situations, substance use, exploitation, Justice involvement, homelessness, CFS involvement, gang affiliation and 2SLGBTQI+ youth facing systemic barriers
 In-depth knowledge base of traditional Indigenous culture, spirituality and traditions is required
 Demonstrated ability working in harm reduction, trauma informed, anti-racist, and decolonizing environments;
 Knowledge of local community resources
 Knowledge in community development and advocacy
 Ability to use Microsoft Suite, digital communication software, and ability to learn new record keeping programs
 A valid driver’s license; access to a vehicle considered an asset
 Ability to work evenings and weekends as required
